Long Weekend in Toronto, Hamilton & Niagara (Aug 30 – Sept 1, 2025)

Well, here we are – the last long weekend of summer. Feels like July just started, right? Now it’s already Labour Day weekend in Canada. If you’re around Toronto, Hamilton or Niagara, there’s a ton going on, and honestly, it’s the kind of weekend where you just want to get out and make the most of it before fall sneaks in.

I’ve pulled together some of the highlights below.

🎡 Toronto & GTA

Toronto’s basically packed for the Labour Day weekend. The CNE (yep, the Ex) is still running at Exhibition Place until Sept 1st. Food trucks, rides, weird food creations you probably shouldn’t eat but you will anyway. And don’t forget the nightly concerts.

  • Canadian International Air Show – Sat–Mon, 12–3:30 pm over the waterfront (Snowbirds & CF-18s).

  • Toronto Labour Day Parade – Mon morning, starting at University Ave along Queen Street.

  • Blue Jays vs Brewers – Sat (3:07 pm) & Sun (1:37 pm) at Rogers Centre.

🏈 Hamilton & Burlington

Hamilton is all about football on Labour Day. The Labour Day Classic – Tiger-Cats vs Argos – kicks off Monday at 2:30 pm at Tim Hortons Field. If you don’t already have tickets, well, good luck, it’s sold out.

  • Hamilton Labour Day Parade – Mon, 10:30 am with picnic at Bayfront Park.

  • Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum – Open holiday Monday, family-friendly.

  • Royal Botanical Gardens – Still running summer evening events.

🌊 Niagara Falls & Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara has a brand-new attraction opening just in time for the long weekend: Niagara Takes Flight at Table Rock Centre. It’s one of those “flying theatre” experiences with a giant screen and moving seats. Opens Friday.

  • Niagara Falls Fireworks – Every night at 10 pm.

  • Shaw Festival – Musicals and plays across NOTL.

  • Old Falls Street Festival – Fri–Mon on the U.S. side, food trucks, live music, vendors.

🛡️ Quick Safety Note

Long weekends mean homes are empty 🏠, businesses close early 💼, and that’s when criminals start looking for opportunities. Having a reliable home and business security system is the difference between peace of mind and becoming a target.

Before you head out for fireworks or football:

  • ✅ Make sure your alarm system is armed and connected to 24/7 monitoring.

  • 🎥 Test your security cameras (especially outdoor cameras with AI motion alerts and sirens).

  • 🔒 Check that your smart locks and access control systems are working properly.

  • 🔥💧 Confirm that your fire alarms, smoke detectors, and flood sensors are active in case of emergencies.

Whether it’s protecting your family home or your business location, a properly installed and monitored security system makes sure you come back to things exactly the way you left them.

That’s why thousands across Toronto, Hamilton, and Niagara trust Force Security for professional alarm monitoring, security camera systems, and business-grade access control solutions.

So yeah, whether you’re in Toronto stuffing your face at the Ex, cheering at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, or catching the new Niagara ride and fireworks… this long weekend’s loaded. Summer’s not over until you say it is.

Get out there, enjoy it, and remember – we’ve got your back while you’re gone.

Force Security – Always Watching. Always Ready.
