Need help completing your application?
Force Security provides grant-ready quotes, site assessments, and compliant system designs for organizations in Niagara, Hamilton, and Toronto.
Ontario’s Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant helps local organizations protect the spaces where people gather. Every year, the province provides funding to help faith-based, cultural, Indigenous, and 2SLGBTQ+ organizations upgrade their security — including cameras, alarms, lighting, and access control systems.
The 2025–2026 grant is expected to reopen later this year, based on last year’s timeline that ran from late October to early December. If you’re in the Niagara, Hamilton, or Toronto area, now’s the time to start planning your upgrades and getting quotes ready before applications open.
What the Grant Can Cover
Organizations can use the grant for almost anything that improves safety and helps prevent hate-motivated incidents. This includes:
Security camera systems and upgrades (including advanced TiOC cameras with lights and sirens)
Intrusion alarms connected to 24-hour ULC-certified monitoring
Access control systems for doors and entry points
Better lighting and building improvements
Cybersecurity or digital protection
Repairs to property damaged by hate-related incidents
In the last round, eligible groups received between five and ten thousand dollars, depending on their size and facility type.
Who Can Apply
The grant supports a wide range of community organizations, such as:
Churches, mosques, synagogues, and temples
Cultural and community centres
Indigenous organizations and band councils
2SLGBTQ+ centres and Pride spaces
Schools and after-school programs
Registered charities and nonprofits that host public gatherings
To qualify, your organization needs to operate a non-residential facility in Ontario where you hold regular cultural, community, or spiritual events.
When to Expect the 2025–2026 Application Period
While the government hasn’t confirmed official dates yet, it’s expected to open again in the fall of 2025, with funding rolling out in early 2026. Once it opens, applications usually stay live for about four to six weeks.
That means this is the perfect time to:
Review your building’s current security setup
Decide which upgrades are most important
Get a professional quote for eligible equipment
Make sure your organization’s paperwork is up to date
Being prepared early helps your application stand out and makes the process smoother once the program opens.
