That's the difference between a system that records what happened and one that interrupts it.
How fast will an alert reach my phone while I'm on the train?
Effectively straight away, as long as you have signal. The push notification and the monitoring centre's response happen at the same time, not one after the other, so you're not the bottleneck. If you're in a dead spot or in a meeting and don't pick up, the operator moves down your call list to the next person, then dispatches. Nothing waits on you answering.
Will my Ajax system still work during a power outage?

Can you take over monitoring from my existing system?
Usually, yes. If you're on ADT, TELUS, Vivint, Rogers or something an installer put in years ago, a technician checks what's on your walls, confirms which parts talk to our monitoring centre, and tells you plainly what carries over and what doesn't. What happens when my Ajax alarm goes off?
