What You'll Actually Do Every Day
You'll be out in the field installing and servicing security systems in real homes and businesses. Some days you're wiring a brand new alarm panel in a Niagara Falls family home. Other days you're mounting 4K cameras at a Hamilton warehouse. Every job is different.
- Install and program alarm panels and PowerG wireless devices
- Set up CCTV and IP cameras, NVRs, and remote viewing apps
- Run and terminate Cat5e, Cat6, and other low voltage wiring
- Troubleshoot and repair existing alarm and camera systems
- Keep wiring neat, labelled, and easy to service on future visits
- Teach customers how to use their system and mobile app
- Maintain a clean work area at every single job site
This is not a security guard job. You're an electronic security technician. You install, program, and service alarm systems and camera systems. You work with your hands, solve problems, and leave every job site better than you found it.
The Quick Facts
Everything you need to know at a glance.
What You Bring to the Table
We're looking for someone who's good with their hands, shows up on time, and treats customers' homes like their own. Technical skills matter, but attitude matters more. Here's what we need.
- Valid G class driver's licence
- 1+ years of alarm technician or CCTV experience is preferred
- Comfortable with basic IP networking and remote access setup
- Able to use hand and power tools and work safely on ladders
- Bondable and insurable record
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude on site
Don't have alarm experience? If you're handy, motivated, and willing to learn, we want to hear from you. We've trained plenty of great technicians from scratch. If you have electrical, HVAC, or any low voltage background, you're already ahead of the curve.
Compensation
Pay range: $20 to $35 per hour based on your experience, skills, and ability to work independently. Technicians who can run jobs solo and handle complex installs earn at the top of the range.
You'll have steady local work all year long. No seasonal slowdowns. Security systems don't take summers off, and neither do we. You get paid training on the systems we use most and support from our in-house team whenever you need it.
This is a permanent, full-time position. Not a contract. Not a trial run. A real job with a real company that's been around since 1988.
